About Us
Morwenna Penwright Teacher Hi, I’m Morwenna, I’ve been practicing yoga for almost 20 years. I stumbled across an Iyengar yoga class in my early twenties in my local church hall and fell in love with it, instantly. Being a rather hot headed and fiery type, I was yet to find anything that balanced out my mind and body. Yoga seemed to do this! So, week after week, I’d turn up to this class, for many years and find my peace, space, balance and chill; who’d have thought it… Yoga became and remains my happy place. My practice continued over the years, both at home and class based, discovering many different styles of yoga (Ashtanga, vinyasa (my favourite!), Hatha, Kundalini, Yin, to name but a few). Having been through some extremely difficult times over the years and suffering at the hands of mental health, I can honestly say, I don’t know what I would have done without it, or even IF I could have done without my practice. Over the years, as well as my physical practice, I’ve found a passion for the philosophical, spiritual side of yoga, the mythology, the stories…! I came to love meditation and pranayama. I often ask myself where I’d be without yoga! Yoga keeps me young, my yoga teacher is always telling us that you’re as old as your spine! It keeps my mind healthy and my body strong. Off the mat, as well as being a full-time IT professional with a love of reading, running and hiking, I am a proud mum of 2 beautiful kids, Summer and Skye, they bring life and sunshine into my world! My love and passion for both yoga and my children brought me to start my very own journey into the world of yoga teaching wanting to pass on to them what yoga has done and continues to do for me. I started my BWY foundation training with Jackie Quayle in 2017, and, not wanting the study, community and learning to end, applied immediately for (and now qualified from) the Yoga Bank (IYN) 200 hour teacher training course… - and already looking for the next course to continue my study! I’m passionate about bringing the effects of yoga to all, show the world how it can have such a dramatic effect on mental health issues, for young, for old, beginners and beyond (and everyone in between).
